What skill do you teach? Snowboarding
What qualification do you have? BASI Level 1 and on my way for BASI Level 2.
When was your first Snowsports experience and where? My first snow sports experience was Les Arc in 2012; the beautiful sun peaking through the clouds whilst blasting it down the blue and red runs is what made snowboarding the best sport in the world for me. The speed, the adrenaline and the calm, quiet nature of the mountains.
What’s the best thing about being an instructor at The Snow Centre? Definitely the people I meet. I absolutely love getting to know everyone I am about to teach and how everyone is so different in terms of their background. What amazes me the most is how most people learn in slightly different ways so it is just finding what works best for them... and when I do find out what it is, their progression goes through the roof - this I find SO rewarding!
One single tip you would give to anyone taking part in Snowsports… No matter what, don't give up. The more you fall, the more you learn. Time is the best test of skill and if you don't give up, you will improve.
Funniest Snowsports memory? My funniest memory would be doing a double grab on a medium kicker at the request of a few young kids watching the park. I did it, but over rotated on my tail grab and caught my nose in the snow on the landing. As a result, I front-flipped and landed it by sheer luck and the kids went crazy. Haha.
