To become a Snowsports instructor at an indoor or dry slope, you’ll need a Level 1 instructor qualification.
If you would like to teach on the mountains, you may be able to do this in some ski resorts with a BASI or IASI Level 1 qualification, but you will mostly be required to have a Level 2 qualification.
Level 1 Ski or Snowboard Instructor Qualification
At The Snow Centre you can gain a Level 1 qualification 3 different organisations, BASI, IASI or SSE. If you are an experienced parallel skier or advanced level snowboarder you can become qualified to teach beginners to intermediate skiers/snowboarders of any age, at indoor slopes in the UK. If you are unsure of your ability or just want to get some extra practice before your instructor course, book onto one of our Skills Development Sessions where our coaches will be happy to assess your level and give you any pointers you may need before you start.
See the diagram below to find out which Level 1 course is right for you.
