Find out more about our skiing and snowboarding lessons…
It’s your first visit to The Snow Centre’s slopes? Then check out our video that will show everything you’ll need to know for when you get here.
WHAT TO WEAR
The temperature on the slope will range from -2°c to -6°c so we recommend thick warm socks and layered clothing and gloves are compulsory for all slope activities. We don’t recommend jeans, which usually end up pretty waterlogged, but any waterproof clothing would be ideal.
Don’t worry if you don’t own any snow sports clothing as you can hire warm and waterproof outerwear from The Snow Centre for just £6.50 per person. For hygiene reasons, we can’t hire out gloves or socks, but they are available to purchase from the Check-In Desk. Gloves are £9 and Socks are £4.
WHAT TO BRING
-
Your Booking Reference number if you have pre-booked – this can be found on your booking confirmation email.
-
Your height, weight and shoe size so we can set up your equipment.
If you are bringing a junior along please make sure you do know their details.
If you are returning for another lesson, remember to bring along your achievement card from your previous lesson so you can continue to track your progress.
OUR EQUIPMENT
We’ve partnered with HEAD to provide you with all the Snow Sports equipment you’ll need on the slope. The cost of your lesson or lift pass includes the hire of skis, snowboard, boots, poles and helmet. So, we’ve got all the equipment you need.
PROTECT YOUR HEAD
If you’re participating in a high adventure sport, it makes sense to wear a helmet. We want to promote safety awareness amongst Snow Sports enthusiasts and helmet hire is included within the price of your lesson or ski pass. See our helmet policy below.
While we encourage everyone to protect their heads by wearing a helmet, it is compulsory for:
-
All children aged 16 years and under whilst undertaking any snow activity
-
Everyone participating in Skiing and Snowboarding lessons from Level 1 to Level 4 inclusive
-
Everyone participating in freestyle activities, race training and any form of competition
-
Everyone participating in a Sledging session.
ARRIVE EARLY
If you’ve got a ski or snowboarding lesson, please make sure you arrive around 30 minutes before your lesson. This will ensure you have enough time to check in, collect your equipment and get changed. We cannot account for any time lost on the slopes if you aren’t ready for your lesson in time. See our Terms and Conditions for more details
BEAT THE QUEUES
If you pre-book online bring your booking confirmation number. It will be sent to you in an email. If you don’t get the email please call 0845 258 9000 and provide your postcode. The team can then tell you your booking confirmation number over the phone.
If you have your booking confirmation number you can avoid queuing for the Check-in Desk. Instead to the left of the stairs on level 1 use one of five Fast Track machines that will print your tickets. If you have purchased a Recreational Lift Pass sign the book on the gates as you go through to the rental area and have a great time!
