Essential Information
Getting Started
Let’s get you on the slope.
Getting yourself started on the slope couldn’t be simpler. Take a look at how to book a session and how to stay warm once you get here:
Booking is a breeze.
To book, simply click on ‘Bookings’ on the left and you’ll be able to do it all online. Alternatively just give us a call on 0845 258 9000 or come and visit us in person at The Snow Centre, St Albans Hill, Hemel Hempstead, Herts. HP3 9NH.
What to wear.
The basic rule is to stay warm and dry. The temperature on the slope will range from -2°c to -6°c so we recommend warm waterproof gloves, warm socks and layered clothing. We don’t recommend jeans, which usually end up pretty waterlogged, but any waterproof clothing would be ideal.
Don’t worry if you don’t own any snow clothing as you can hire warm and waterproof outerwear from the Snow Centre. For hygiene reasons, we can’t hire out gloves or socks, but they are available to purchase.
Our equipment.
We’ve partnered with HEAD to provide you with all the equipment you’ll need on the slope. Your ticket cost includes the hire of skis, snowboard, boots, poles and helmet. Just turn up and get busy.
Protect your head.
If you’re participating in a high adventure sport, it makes sense to wear a helmet – and zipping down a slope is as high adventure as it gets. We want to promote safety awareness amongst snowsports enthusiasts and helmets are available for everyone to wear free of charge. See our helmet policy below:
While we encourage everyone to protect their heads by wearing a helmet, it’s compulsory for:
- All children aged 16 years and under whilst undertaking any snow activity
- Everyone participating in lessons from Level 1 to Level 4 inclusive
- Everyone participating in freestyle activities, race training and any form of competition
- Everyone participating in ringos
